Finally Updated Blog and, Of Course, More Paranormal Occurrences

Filed under: Personal Experiences — Sam - Admin @ 12:49 AM

Yes. It’s true. It took me forever to re-post the old blogs from the old website. But now, they are finally back up. And (drum roll) I have a NEW story to post!

My last post was about the ghostly activity in my dorm room here at school.  Now months later, I can tell you that I have had many more experiences here, and also in other locations.  This may lead some to think that my dorm is haunted, but it is not.  It is me that is haunted.  The difference between the two is this: in a haunted place, one can leave and cease to experience activity, however, for a haunted person (myself being a sensitive) the paranormal permeates all aspects of life.  Sure, sometimes it is only at the back of our minds, but it is there, because we know that at any second, no matter where we are, who we are with, etc. we could encounter something a little weird.  And by weird I, of course, mean paranormal.

I have since my last post encountered the fey (fey is plural for faeries….and yes, they do exist), something else inhuman (though it doesn’t appear to be negative, I cannot figure ust what it is), many many human spirits, and some other unexplainable activity.  I have also been having some really strange dreams, which may or may not be related.

I will recount for you one specific event that occurred approximately a week ago.  I was sitting at my computer desk, here in my dorm room.  I was working on several things, one of them indeed being this website.  I took a break from looking at my glaring computer screen, and let my eyes wander around the soothingly darkened room.  Suddenly, my eye was caught by what appeared to be a small shadow in front of my door.  Sure enough something was there.  I have no idea what it was.  All I can say for sure is that it blocked out part of the doorway, was about three or four feet in height, with a skinny “head” at the top and a globular, wide bottom.  It did not taper off or anything before meeting the floor, which means this shadow either did not have legs and feet, or they were through the floor.  As I stared in awe of this thing that was only feet away, the entity seemed the somehow fold down into itself and disappeared leaving me shocked, excited, and a bit spooked, like a little kid at a fireworks show.

Some of you may read this and think this experience would be scary.  But I assure you I was not scared and am usually not scared of the paranormal.  Once you learn more about it, and experience it so often, you realize that it really isn’t all that frightening.  I suppose I have simply gotten used to the odd occurrences, and being a paranormal investigator myself, the more experiences I have, the more I know what to look for or get ideas of things to try during an investigation.  Every new encounter I have with the unexplained leaves me exhilerated and wanting more.  Unfortunately, due to circumstances, I cannot do much investigating at the moment, but I am hoping things will change once I am home for summer break, and then hopefully next year will be better.

Anyway, now I’ve begun to ramble and so I’ll leave you with a quote I think.

“It’s not what you look at that matters; it’s what you see.” – Henry David Thoreau

Dorm Room Ghosts?

Being a sensitive, I suppose I should have expected this.  And I guess I did maybe a little, but still it startled me.  See, I just moved into my dorm at college about a month ago, and of course, it didn’t take long for the unexplained to follow.  The second weekend I was here, I went to bed around midnight, which is pretty early for me.  I was laying there, not really that tired, and I kept getting this weird vibe, the same feeling I usually get when something weird is about to happen.  I look over at left side of the bed, and boom, standing there is a fully body apparition of a really creepy looking man.  I got a pretty negative feeling from him, and just as I was about to jump out of bed (on the right side of course!) he faded away.  I sat back, my heart beating a little fasting, wondering why I got a negative feeling from a definite human spirit.

This guy hasn’t reappeared thus far, and I hope he never will.  I don’t mind spirits most of the time, but I do mind when they bring that negative feeling with them that always makes me so uneasy.  And of course, this hasn’t been the only thing to happen.

So far, only one other thing has happened, but we’ll see if it stays that way.  I was sitting in bed again and had just turned off the TV to go to sleep.  I happened to glance over at my roommate’s desk chair.  I could swear it was rocking back and forth!  But it was pretty dark and I was tired, so I just tried to ignore it and sleep.  But then I kept getting the urge to look over at it again, just to see if it had been rocking or if ut was really just my eyes playing tricks on me.  By now, my eyes had adjusted to the dark completely, and it still looked like the chair was moving.  So, I decided to ask the possible spirit if it could just rock the chair a little harder, and I carefully watched the chair’s shadow on the wall to see if it covered up the any of the nearby heater.  The chair rocked back and forth.  Although I thought I’d already seen it, I really expected it to just be my eyes.  But the shadow covered up part of the heater, and as I was staring at the chair, it kept moving for a minute or two.  And I aksed the spirit if it could make it rock a little harder.  I watched the chair legs move, back and forth, pretty distinctively.  All I could think was “whoa”; but it did not scare me.  I didn’t get a negative vibe from whatever it was, so I then went to sleep.

Since then, I’ve seen the chair rock back and forth one more time, a couple nights ago.  I hope whoever or whatever it is making the chair move will feel comfortable staying here if they aren’t willing to move on.  I don’t mind having spirits around if they are gentle like this one seems to be.

(Not sure if this is connected to anything in anyway, but just wanted to mention it.  They say spirits can communicate through dreams.  I remember my dreams maybe once every other month or maybe less, but for some reason this last week, I’ve had these really odd dreams every night, and so far I’ve been able to remember them all but one.  Perhaps some spirit is trying to communicate?……….Or maybe I just need to stop snacking before bed! ;D )

My Spirit Guide….Sort Of

This is where it gets a little weird. (Ok, a little more weird.)  I moved into my sister’s old bedroom about a year ago.  While she was moving her stuff out (which took her forever), I would walk down the hallway (the room was at the very end) to check if she’d moved anything else out yet.  Nearly everytime I walked down that hallway, I felt as if someone was standing outside the bedroom door, staring at me.  I didn’t necessarily feel threatened or feel any negativity from it, it was just very weird and creepy.  At first I ignored it.  Then, when I finally did move into the room, I would sometimes have to walk through the presence and other times I would go to open the door, and it would feel like someone was standing behind it.  I had to push against something to get it open.  (There’s nothing wrong with the door.  It stopped doing this once I figured out what the presence was.  I believe this was a way to get my attention.)

After the first few times of feeling this odd presence, I began to get a picture in my mind’s eye, of a middle aged man, with spiky blondish-brown hair, wearing a black trench coat, his eyes in shadow, and kind of a brooding expression on his face.  I didn’t know what to make of this image.  Was this just my imagination?  Was he real? Was he the presence I was feeling?  Was I going crazy?

Eventually other things started happening, Brianna showed up, and I started figuring out what was going on a little.  Then, one day his name popped into my head.  Allan Kendall.  At first, I wasn’t sure who he was or why he was here.  I figured he was just another human spirit, like Brianna.  Over time, after talking to others in the paranormal field, and I realized I wasn’t crazy after all, I began trying to communicate with Allan and Brianna.

As I tried to figure out who Allan was and why he was here, I asked him if he was my spirit guide, since he always seemed to be guarding me.  His reply was, “In a way.”  After talking to him some more, I found out that he is not my actual spirit guide, but a human spirit stepping in as my guardian in place of my spirit guide.  I still do not know why this is; he will not elaborate.

Allan is my friend, my mentor, and my guardian.  He follows me wherever I go.  He once even saved my life.  I was in a pretty bad car wreck, and the paramedics said I should have had to be airlifted.  I had no injuries, just a single bruise, and I know that he was there that day, protecting me.  That’s when I really began believing that I really wasn’t crazy, and that this was all real.  I still doubt myself sometimes, but I have learned to trust myself much more.  Thanks to Allan.

I had had a few odd experiences before, but I always chose to attribute them to something else; I didn’t want to believe in the paranormal.  I told myself that it was just a dream, I was just tired, my contacts were dry, etc. etc. But finally one experience made me believe.

I went to bed late that night, having stayed up finishing homework.  I got into bed and decided to watch some TV since I wasn’t very tired.  Soon I began hearing this odd murmuring sound, and it creeped me out a little. At first I thought it was just on TV, so I turned that off.  The sound stopped.  Satisfied I lay back down.  Seconds later the murmur started back up. For a minute I sat there, heart beating fast, until I realized it was only the motor on the fan. I turned that off, too, laughed silently at myself for being so silly, and decided to try and get some sleep. As soon as my head hit the pillow, I heard, loud and very clearly, a little girl’s voice say, “Hello” from within my room.

I have checked the vents in my room to see if the sound could have carried from another room, but it was three in the morning, everyone else was in bed, and any noise that coems through the vent has to be extremely loud and it sounds tinny and echo-y.  Not at all like what I heard.

Since this experience, I have become more familiar with this little girl spirit.  Her name is Brianna. (Pronounced bree-awna, NOT bree-anna, as she once told me huffily). I have also seen her aparition on one occasion.  I opened my door to see (most of) her standing there.  I could see her blonde hair with a yellow hair ribbon in it, her right arm, the bottom of her pale yellow dress, and that was it.  No left arm, no chest, no legs, no face or neck.  I believe that she is about 6 or 7 years old and lived in Michigan.

I now try and talk to her every day.  Usually I tell her good morning, good night, and try to leave something out for her to play with.  Right now I have a bunny stuffed animal, whose ears have wires that allow you to reposition them, and a ball on the floor.  The ball has not moved, but the bunny’s ears have once.

I am not positive exactly how she died, but I have reason to believe she was murdered by a man in a dark place, possibly an alley, and I the time period around the 1970’s. I have seen a sort of flashback of the man (I could not see his face) lashing at her legs with something, a branch or a whip, and leaving bloody lacerations all down her legs.  I also heard her horrendous screams that night.  I will never forget that night.  I couldn’t make it stop, I could do nothing to help her.  Now she will not talk about how she died.  She has stayed with me for nearly a year now, and I don’t think she plans on leaving.  Whether she will be able to or will want to follow me to college remains to be seen.

My First Paranormal Experience

(Originally posted, in the old blog, on 3/29/2009)

My very first paranormal experience happened when I was about eleven years old.  I had just finally gotten my own bedroom about a month or so before.  It was around midnight, and I was having trouble sleeping, which at the time was not normal for me.  I happened to look over at my dresser and there above the top drawer, which was open, floated a solid ball of bright white light, which was ringed with a pale blue glow.  It was approximately the size of a soccer ball.  I was very frightened; I had never seen anything like it and had no idea what it could possibly be.  I hunddled under the covers and then heard my name called twice in a long, drawn-out whisper, “Samanthaaaa…Samanthaaa.”  I bolted from my room and went down the hallway, trying to find someone awake who could tell me what was going on.  Everyone was asleep.  I stayed in the living room for a couple of hours and finally went back to bed, and eventually to sleep.  The next morning, I asked my family if anyone had called my name the night before, and everyone said no, giving me strange looks.  I wouldn’t have another paranormal experience until almost seven years later.

I still have no real explanation for what happened that night.  Over the last seven years, I nearly convinced myself that it was just a dream, although in the back of my mind I always knew that it had been real.  It didn’t occur to me that this was paranormal (a word I didn’t even know back then) or possibly a ‘ghost’.  It was only when my current haunting started that I recognized it as such.

More of my story later.

Filed under: Website Updates — Sam - Admin @ 6:33 PM

Support for the Haunted now has better web hosting, an updated layout, and a new blog.  I will eventually repost all the old posts from my original blog.  Currently only the main pages are finished, but I am working on updating and re-publishing the group listings and other pages.  Hopefully this will be finished soon.  I will also either link the old forum to the site, or create a new one to go along with the new site.

As always, comments and/or suggestions for the site are always welcome.

I hope you find what you are searching for, and remember that if you cannot find the info or person that you need to help you, I will gladly help you in your search.

Blessings,

Sam
